My Family Spaghetti Bolognese

Recipe Of The Week

What You Need

  1. 500g mince beef
  2. 1 Tin Chopped tomatoes Or 1 carton of passata
  3. Good squeeze of tomato puree
  4. 1 onion (Red or white)
  5. 1 Garlic clove
  6. 1tsp oregano
  7. Salt & pepper
  8. Olive oil
  9. Spaghetti (about ¾ of a pack)

What You Need (Optional)

  1. Use tomato sauce if you have no tomato puree
  2. Grated Cheese
  3. Parmesan Cheese

How To Do It

  1. Put a pan of water on to cook the spaghetti
  2. Chop the onion & Garlic
  3. Heat a little oil in a large saucepan or deep frying pan
  4. Add the onion, garlic & Oregano and fry gently for about a minute.
  5. Add the mince beef and cook until browned all over.
  6. Add the Tomatoes and tomato puree, salt & pepper and stir well.
  7. Turn the heat down and simmer for about 15mins.
  8. When the spaghetti has cooked, drain the water.
  9. Serve onto warmed plates or bowls
